Maggie Walker (nee Uden) - Physiotherapist

Maggie has over 24 years clinical experience of working as a physiotherapist in the specialist area of amputee and prosthetic rehabilitation at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Roehampton, London. Maggie continues to work at Roehampton within the NHS part-time, but also undertakes independent private amputee physiotherapy and medico-legal work.

Maggie enjoys using her experience in assessing and providing comprehensive, holistic physiotherapy programmes for the lower limb amputee. Her particular interests include managing the multiple limb loss amputee, those with complex needs and amputees having undergone Osseointegration by the Swedish method of Direct Skeletal Fixation. She promotes sport and exercise and encourages amputees to participate in activities for their health and well-being. She has undertaken training for amputees using Micro Processor Knee Units.
Maggie has an active role in the education of students and lecturing on the Multi-Disciplinary Courses held at Roehampton. She is the co-author of four publications in the journal ‘Prosthetics and Orthotics International’. Over the years she has regularly given presentations at national and international conferences, notably ISPO (UK meetings and at their World Congress).
